Triglav National Park

Slovenia´s only national park is situated in the northwest near the border to Italy and Austria. It basically covers the complete eastern part of the Julian Alps. The park has a size of 880 square kilometres and is named after its highest mountain, the 2864 m high Triglav. No matter if you plan a simple hike through untouched nature or want to climb a demanding route in high-alpine area - the national park is the perfect address!

A Hiker´s paradise. The national park offers a big network of hiking trails and climbing routes and also especially assigned didactic nature trails. That makes it a perfect destination for an educational excursion with the whole family. Along the 16 km long Radovna Bicycle Trail numerous cultural and geographical highlights can be explored. A special highlight is Lake Bohinj which reflects the steeply rising mountain summits. The small village Ribčev Laz on the eastern shore is a perfect starting point for hikes into the mountains or around the lake.
