Tscheppaschlucht Canyon

The canyon is 1.2 km long and in order to hike through it you need to be free from giddiness and bring good hiking boots. You will cross narrow bars, bridges and climb ladders. Don´t worry - the trail is very well secured. From the parking lot at the Loibltal street you walk along the Loiblbach creek to the “Goldenen Brünnl” (Golden Fountain) – the beginning of the canyon. Accompanied by the noise of the water the rocky trail leads to the “Teufelsbrücke” (Devil´s Bridge). From here you will see several waterfalls, among which the 30 m high Tschaukofall waterfall is the most impressive one.

Bodental – A valley full of fairy tales. Through the “Felsentor” (Rock Gate) you will get to a fork in the trails, from her you can hike into the Bodental valley and back again to the Loibltal street. If you wander into Bodental valley, don´t miss “Meerauge” (Ocean Eye), a mystical small pond with a unbelievably crystal clear water. For the trail through the canyon you need approx. 2 hours. If this is too long for you, take the "Tscheppaschlucht Bus". The bus also takes you to Devil´s Bridge and back to the parking lot from all final points of the canyon.
