In the holiday region of Southern Carinthia you will find some of Austria´s top fishing destinations, such as Lake Kleinsee or the Vellach river which is also called „Pearl of the Karawanken mountains. For decades the legendary rivers of Slovenia are, beside the well-known lakes and rivers of Southern Carinthia, places where fly- and bait fishers from all over the world travel in order to enjoy their passion.
While some rivers and lakes became real „classics“, some others are still “secrets”. The Savinja river is one of them, it is also called „Pearl of the Steiner Alps“. The Soča – “the emerald river” - however, is well-known as a fly fisher´s paradise for years
