Gemeinde Sittersdorf

The tourism municipality of Sittersdorf is situated in the middle of the so-called "Jauntaler Seenplatte" (Jauntal valley Lake District). One of the warmest swimming lakes of Austria, Lake Sonnegger See, is on the territory of our municipality. It is a wonderful place for the whole family, with its big water slide, the playgrounds and the beautiful sunbathing area. The lake is also a perfect location for a family fishing-trip.

The municipality of Sittersdorf can look back on a long tradition winegrowing. In the last years the cultivation of wine in the municipality was intensified again and the so called "Sittersdorfer Rötl" is the highlight of the annual wine festival in autumn. The newest achievement around the viniculture is the Sittersdorf spectators wine garden with a winegrowing exhibition trail. There you cannot only try from the different delicious grapes, you will also get a feeling for the modern viniculture as well as the history of winegrowing in Sittersdorf.
